x-post from H-SHGAPE: please respond to H-Women. I will cross-post all responses to both lists. KL ***************************************************************************** From: david zimmerman <dzim@uclink.berkeley.edu> I am looking for fictional and non-fictional evidence of psychic mediums, mesmerists, faith-healers, and spiritualists who entered the stock market as speculators and financiers between 1870 and 1920. Victoria Woohull is probably the most familiar example of such a figure (and I have only passing familiarity with literature focusing on this aspect of her life). Please specify texts I should look at. More generally I am examining certain confuences between speculation and spiritualism during this period. Thanks.
