I am interested in information about the Women's Commerce and Savings Bank that existed in Shanghai by 1924. If any one knows of material in English about it, I would appreciate the leads. In particular, I would like to know: When it started? If a similar bank in Beijing/Peking opened as a result of the success of the Shanghai bank (possibly known as the Peking Women's Commercial and Savings Bank)? Locations of any visuals for either bank. I have come across information on the Shanghai bank (and a proposal for the Peking one) in literature on U.S. women and banks from the 1920s-1940s, but the information is sketchy and without references. Many thanks, Nancy Marie Robertson NMR1675@is2.nyu.edu
