X-Posted from "Hausa language, literature and culture" <H-HAUSA@H-NET.MSU.EDU> From: "John Philips, Hirosaki University" <philips@MAIL.H-NET.MSU.EDU> ---------- Date: Fri, 07 Jul 2006 19:39:23 -0000 From: "Don Osborn" <dzo@bisharat.net> FYI, according to this item seen on Internet-Niger, the French international radio network RFI will add a Hausa service this fall. This is apparently the first African language (apart from Arabic) to be offered on RFI. BBC, VOA, Radio DeutscheWelle, and I believe Radio China are national/international radio services that already have broadcasts in Hausa. The website of RFI is http://www.rfi.fr ... --------- REPLY Date: Tue, 11 Jul 2006 17:19:16 +0900 From: "John Philips, Hirosaki University" <philips@MAIL.H-NET.MSU.EDU> Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2006 12:24:25 -0400 From: "Peter Rogers" <rogers.peter.a@gmail.com> Speaking of various international Hausa services mentioned... I was recently reviewing BBC, DW & VOA online (written) services to check on various stylistic/grammatical/spelling conventions used, and from there just happened to stumble on Radio China International's online service, which I had not previously known about. This latter service [see http://ha.chinabroadcast.cn/ ] is truly amazing in its volume and range of material -- well worth a look. It's a clear example of China's continuing huge investment throughout Africa. Yours, Peter A.
