------- Thank you Charles and Jean for this information. However, I would like to add that non-official French versions of the Declaration of Harare and the Action plan adopted by this conference have be put on-line since 2003 (scanned and corrected from a document that was provided to us by CELHTO in Niamey), at http://www.bisharat.net/Documents/ Concerning the English versions of the Declaration of Harare, the Action plan, and also the Summary of the proceedings, they were put on line on the same site at the end of 2001 or the beginning of 2002 (keyed in from a document which was provided to us by Culturelink of UNESCO). The official version, revised, in English appeared in mid-2002 and is currently available in .pdf format at http://ocpa.irmo.hr/resources/docs/Harare_Language-en.pdf. This last version seems to be more complete than that available in .doc format at http://portal.unesco.org/culture/en/ev.php-URL_ID=9104&URL_DO=DO_TOPIC&URL_SECTION=201.html . The .pdf (image) version that is accessible at http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0013/001302/130227eb.pdf (found by following the links from http://portal.unesco.org/education/en/ev.php-URL_ID=13132&URL_DO=DO_TOPIC&URL_SECTION=201.html) is the original one - i.e. not-revised - the same one we keyed in back in 2001. I will update the page for "Basic documents" on linguistic policies in Africa at http://www.bisharat.net/Documents/ by adding the link for the French .pdf version. I would like to take the opportunity to say that we have great need to see on-line a whole series of documents from conferences and meetings on language policies in Africa (including the transcription of African languages, education in mother tongues, etc.) since the independences. These documents are often very difficult to find, but they deserve to be made available to policy makers, researchers, and of course the general public. We have made the effort to present them as ?Basic documents? on the Bisharat site, but still lack many. We are thus ready to collaborate with all who want to help move ahead with this. Thank you.
