------------ One of the US National Endowment for the Humanities/National Science Foundation grants for study of endangered languages was awarded to Rebecca Cover, a grad student at UC Berkeley, to study Badiaranke, a language spoken by about 12,000 people in the Guinea/Guinea-Bissau/Senegal border area.
