DZO Date: 18-Oct-2005 From: Roger Blench <r.blench@odi.org.uk> Subject: Igbo Language Survey As part of preparing the unpublished work of the late Professor Kay Williamson in Nigeria, the Trustees of the Kay Williamson Educational Foundation are looking for a young scholar to complete the survey of Igboid languages in Nigeria for which only partial or no documentation exists. Anyone interested should: a) have proven experience of transcribing tone languages, preferably African b) should have field experience of working under difficult conditions The Foundation would pay all reasonable field expenses plus an honorarium to be agreed based on previous experience As long as the data required for the project is collected, the researcher would be free to collect any other data for their own purposes and to analyse the data they collect for academic publication.
