AHA 2000 Program Committee Announces Match-Making Service! The Program Committee for the Year 2000 Annual Meeting announces the launching of an on-line "Panelfinder" to help prospective panelists find like-minded souls. The Panelfinder is a HyperNews Forum, which is a threaded message board. Messages, e.g. "seeking medievalist for panel on gender and religious practice in early Modern Europe," are permanently listed in the order posted, and are nested, so that persons interested in a particular proto-panel can easily find colleagues with similar interests. We especially hope that the Panelfinder will help scholars cross traditional boundaries and will facilitate the composition of comparative and cross- and trans-regional panels. The Panelfinder is fairly self-explanatory, and there are built in Help functions. There are no memberships or subscriptions necessary to use the Panelfinder. PLEASE NOTE that posting messages to the Panelfinder is is no way related to submitting a proposal for the Annual Meeting, which must still be done in the manner prescribed in the Call For Papers found in Perspectives. To access the Panelfinder, simply log onto the AHA's homepage, <http://www.theaha.org> and click on the link titled "Panelfinder" on the main page. For further information, please contact Panelfinder Administrator Jeff Hornstein <jhorn@wam.umd.edu>.
