This is a good journal which has, in the past, had articles about interpretation of the West through film. Another lead would be Dr. Richard Etulain at the University of New Mexico (Center for the American West, UNM, Albuquerque, NM 87131). His interests include perceptions of the West in popular culture. Another suggestion is to post this question to the AmWest-H list. I also hang out there and I am SURE that someone there could add to my mini-suggestion list. Good luck!
