email@example.com Date: 27 April 2010 I'm looking for sources for a paper I'm writing on emergent Islamic networks in urban Angola. I'm particularly interested in how "Islamic civil society" has been reconfigured in the West African literature as an instrumentalist/economized category with perhaps less concern for the ontological/uneconomistic impulses of Islam. To this end, I'm interested in looking at the intersections of Islamic revivalism and trade networks (with Senegal, Mali, Libya, etc.), Islam's relationship to the state, Islam's relation to "urban informality," etc. Any references you can think of on these or any other questions would be greatly appreciated!
