Neteros, Another book that might work well discussing globalization in a historical and theoretical perspective on comparisons, continuities, transformations of empires through history is Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri's _EMPIRE_, which seeks to theorize the kind of "supra-national" institutions and relationships of power that the authors argue constitute imperial "sovereignty" in the contemporary world order. In my opinion, the views put forth in this book explain better and give satisfying insights to events like Bush's visit to Latin America. The book brings together unlikely contributors: Hardt, associate professor in Duke University's literature program, and Negri, among other things a writer and inmate at Rebibbia Prison in Rome.
