Dear colleagues, in June 2001 the mailing list "Museum Professionals" goes online. Web (informations, editorial, archives, subscribtion) http://hclist.de/museum/ E-mails to the editorial staff: museum-admin@hclist.de "Museum Professionals" is a moderated mailing list. This means, that the texts are examined by an editorial staff, if need be revised and only then are send. The presenter of the list will ensure that the contents answer the requirements of an academic standard and prevent a use for commercial, non-academic or non-accompanying purposes. The editorial staff is supported by an advisory board. The list first of all turns to colleagues and academics in museen, universities and institutions, as well as to students of the arts, culture sciences, museology and history sciences. The geografical main emphasis is put on the german language speaking area and on the european countries as well. For this reason "Museum Professionals" was started bilingual (german/english). For announcing please use the registration form. The mailing list essentially treats of themes and questions out of the museum-context. At the same time the list is started interdisciplinear, so that particularly archaeological, historical, culture and artistic informations, as well as estabished spheres of activity in the surrounding field of the museen are of general interest (memorials, archives, libraries) Another main emphasis is the area "museen and internet". In addition there will be published discussions of exibitions, reviews of books and media, as well as reports of conferences and "call for papers". Sincerely Editorial staff "Museum Professionals": Ralf Blank, Manfred Hartmann, Thilo Martini, Stephanie Marra, Micha Roering, Robert Stroetgen, Marcus Weidner Advisory board: Ulrich Borsdorf, Monika Hagedorn-Saupe, Harald Kraemer, Thomas Schuler, Friedrich Waidacher
