>Typical of the messages intercepted by the British is one dated Aug. 27, >1941, from the German commander in Ukraine, Friederich Jeckeln, which >records that Order Police Battalion 320 shot 4,200 Jews near the town of >Kamenets-Podolsk. Four days later, Jeckeln reported that the same >battalion had executed a further 2,200 Jews. As I wrote already a month ago, an eyewitness reported recently in an interview in the Hungarian newspaper Nepszabadsag, that not only the German Order Police and SS, but also Hungarian soldiers and field gendarms (members of units similar to MP in the US Army) participated in massacres near Kameneck-Podolsk. The victims were the Jews of "unsolved identity" deported from Hungary by the Hungarian government, i.e., Jews of the territories occupied by Hungary as a consequence of two Vienna decisions, as well as Jews escaped to Hungary from Poland and Galicia after Nazi occupation of these territories.
