With just over three weeks to go before the deadline for submissions -- November 22, 1996 -- we wanted to rebroadcast the call for papers for the 1997 SHAFR conference, which will be hosted by Georgetown University from the evening of Thursday, June 19 until the afternoon of Sunday, June 22, 1997. Accomodations at the Georgetown University residence are available for as little as $34.00 per night for doubles, and we are also trying to arrange private accomodations -- at no charge -- for graduate students interested in attending. We will also be working with Washington area archives to facilitate research opportunities during the same period. For those still trying to formulate panels for submission to the Program Committee, we are setting up a "bulletin board" at our web site. Simply post your request over this discussion list, and it will be added to the "Paper Proposals" icon at our website at http://www.georgetown.edu/departments/history/shafr You can also e-mail Program Committee Chair Maarten L. Pereboom at mlpereboom@ssu.edu for queries or information. ----------------- CALL FOR PAPERS ----------------- The Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) invites submissions for its 23rd Annual Conference to be held at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., June 19-22, 1997 We welcome proposals from historians and scholars in related disciplines dealing with the broadest possible range of topics in international history and foreign policy.
