should invest in African languages and multilingual education) Thank you all for your positive responses. I would like to take the opportunity to mention that the idea for an H-AfriLang list, which was originally made some years ago, and most recently in 2007, is still dormant. Its rationale and the history of proposals and their fate is something I don't want to drag up again, but the main issue boiled down to H-Net's perception that it was mainly one person's initiative. The regret on my part is that even if it had been started as such, I think it would have caught on - there certainly is enough info topically and enough interested potential subscribers that it could have (and could still) have been a dynamic part of the H-Net family. If any of you encounter at any time any others in H-Net who want to resurrect the concept, I'm ready to support it. All the best.
