from the Accra Mail (Accra) August 8, 2005 , posted to the web August 8, 2005, by Kent Mensah "Mobile phone snatchers in the capital are on the loose again. There is a close link between the mini-motorbikes in Accra and mobile phone theft. "Nima is undisputably the hub of mobile phone theft. . . . "A Daily Guide journalist, Mr Thomas Fosu, recently had a nasty experience in the hands of these miscreants. It was about 9 pm when he had a call at a time when he was at the Mallam Junction in Accra. As he listened, two young boys pounced on him and asked him to surrender the gadget. At first he fought them, but he was soon overwhelmed with wooden missiles. "They left him a bruised man with an injured finger. The only thing he remembered about them was that they spoke Hausa. That is not all. One Sammi was asked to empty his pocket of its content by two men. One of them said, "Mugama dashi", which in the Hausa language, means let us finish him. "Unfortunately for them, he is Hausa-speaking, so he quickly asked, "menayi" - what have I done. He told the ADM they pitied him and left, but he lost his mobile phone and some unspecified amount of money." story continued at <http://allafrica.com/stories/200508080800.html> -- John Edward Philips <http://human.cc.hirosaki-u.ac.jp/philips/> International Society, College of Humanities, Hirosaki University _Writing African History_ <http://www.urpress.com/80461646.HTM> -- Wannan wasik'ar i-mel ce daga H-Hausa, inda za'a cigaba da hira game da harshe da al'adu da tarihi da sauran lamura na Hausawa da mak'wabtansu.
