X-post: H-NET List for the History of Slavery <H-SLAVERY@H-NET.MSU.EDU> To: H-SLAVERY@H-NET.MSU.EDU FULBRIGHT OPPORTUNITIES FOR US FACULTY INTERESTED IN SLAVERY The Fulbright Scholar Program offers a number of interesting opportunities for U.S. faculty interested in slavery. The Fulbright Scholar Program is offering 106 lecturing, research, and lecturing/research awards in history for the 2006-2007 academic year. Awards for both faculty and professionals range from two months to an academic year. While many awards specify project and host institution, there are a number of open "All Disciplines" or "Social Sciences and Humanities" awards that allow candidates to propose their own project and determine their host institution affiliation. These are available in most countries in Africa and the Western Hemisphere. Faculty interested wishing to do research in more than one country may apply for a Fulbright in the African Regional Research Program or the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia Regional Research Program, both of which welcome applications from historians as well as others. The application deadline for Fulbright traditional lecturing and research grants worldwide is August 1, 2005. U.S. citizenship is required. For more information, other eligibility requirements, and online application, visit the Fulbright web site at www.cies.org.
