Dear John, Having read the caption Nigeria has highest rate of Illiteracy, I seems to tally with the option, as written down by the editor or whoever, it can not be physically measured, but there are some means of measuring such a matter. The main aim(s) or objective(s) of LITERACY is to understand and follow, in such away that if it is an issue that require one to do or to leave, it has to be done or leave. In case of Nigeria with regards to this issue, the number of illiterates has more or less overcome the said literates, and also in their actions as well as duty, the matter happened to be of equal class. You may find my words a bit strength, but what I simply opinion is that the basic unique function of literacy is to acquire and exhibit what has been acquired, which is a bit unnormal in the Nigerian system. It is proved that one can not even differentiate between the ILLITERATE and LITERATE in this dear country Nigeria, because one of the means of measuring such an issue is through performance or action. It is believed that the Literates are suppose to perform say better than their opposite counter parts, but for the case of Nigerians reverse is always the case. That is one of the reason that their said party seems to regards Nigeria as one among the top in this issue. But if it means acquiring the said knowledge without exhibiting what is acquired, then I strongly go agaist the words. Thanking you while anticipating your soonest response on this issue, please. Bye for now. It is Yusuf Wannan wasik'ar i-mel ce daga H-Hausa, inda za'a cigaba da hira game da harshe da al'adu da tarihi da sauran lamura na Hausawa da mak'wabtansu.
