This is to pass the below request for help. (My comments follow.) ___________________ I am a Peace Corps volunteer in the Zinder region of Niger and we have recently begun Hausa literacy classes in my village and other villages in the area. I am in the process of obtaining Hausa language books and materials on varied subjects and levels for the students' continued studies. So far I have found basic health lessons, short stories, history and farming texts. Does anyone know of existing materials in Hausa about grassroots organization and development theory (for the more advanced readers)? Thank you! Jane Oslin firstname.lastname@example.org ____________________ As I understand it from the point of view of Peace Corps staff, Jane is looking for any Hausa language publications on the how-to's and why's of current participatory rural development practice/orthodoxy. I'm not sure there's much out there in Hausa on development theory properly speaking, but it might be fun (my thought) if there were something surveying the last half-century of phases and fads of development for the savvy Hausa-literate beneficiary...
