While I was very interested to read Julius Kobyakov's post -- and while it certainly is far superior to anything I could write in Russian -- I had difficulty understanding the key point. Is Mr. Kobyakov saying that, based upon his access to the archives, he does not think Mr. Hiss was a spy? What about the "Ales" message in Venona, referring to the post-Yalta visit to Moscow?
