Vankeerberghen My name is Angelika C. Messner. I was born in Italy and educated in Italy, Vienna (Austria), China (Beijing) and Germany. Since November 1990 I have been working at the Institute for Chinese Studies at the University of Kiel. In November 1998 I reached my Ph.D. (Doctoral dissertation about "Irresein im China der späten Kaiserzeit bis in die 30er Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts: Kulturtransfer und kulturelle Identität" (Madness in late imperial China: cultural transfer and cultural identity).
