H-ASIA August 27, 1995 Orphanages in China *************************************************************************** ^ ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Margaret Susan Thompson <THOMPSON@maxwell.syr.edu> With reference to the earlier query on orphanages in China: I am responding to this on H-AMREL, but hope that it will be cross- posted to H-ASIA, where the query originated. In any event, a graduate student of mine, Xiaoqing Li, is currently writing a dissertation on American missionary sisters (Catholic) in China; she has considerable information on orphanages from her research, and has worked in the archives of about half the 20 or so US communities of sisters who had missions in China. Should the original inquirer wish to contact her, she can be reached by e-mail at: xiali@mailbox.syr.edu [She is not on either h-amrel or h-asia.] Hope this is of help.
