Applicants must demonstrate not only area-specific expertise but also fluency in religious studies methodologies and an ability to relate his or her work to the larger discipline of the cross-cultural study of religions. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field at time of appointment and demonstrated the promise of excellence in both research and teaching. The applicant should send a CV, a sample research paper, a statement of research interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, three letters of recommendation, and graduate transcripts to: religionsearch@dornsife.usc.edu .
