I am currently researching the black freedom struggle in the South, and responses to the legal repression (and, in particular, imprisonment) of activists during the 1960s and 1970s. Archival sources which address the civil rights era are numerous, but I am having trouble locating sources (archival, oral histories, printed literature) which relate to the black power era in general, and particularly black power groups in the South. I would be grateful for any suggestions of primary material which may address either: a) Black power organisations in the South. or b) The arrest, imprisonment, or legal harassment of those involved in the southern freedom struggle during the late 1960s/1970s.
