<osborndo@pilot.msu.edu> How wide a net would you like to cast? I ask because there are quite a few African scientists working at CGIAR centers - I know / know of several at ICRISAT, ICRAF, and WARDA in West Africa alone. That doesn't even count those working with national agricultural research systems. And all that is just agriculture-related. It might be a bit much to ask for photos, but you could start with www.cgiar.org and e-mail different centers with your request. Further afield, literally and figuratively, there is a Malian who has studied and is practicing Chinese traditional medicine in Chengdu, China (my wife's home town). Unfortunately I don't remember his name, but the Chinese official daily _Renmin Ribao_ had a feature piece on him in their international edition last spring.
