I would not disagree with the idea that IQ test measure IQ... that is what they do.... but I perfer to think of IQ as something that exist within a system of meanings, codes, and context. I think as Gardner suggest (it always sounds so much better when someone else is referred to) IQ may be understood within a history, a culture, a worldview. In that sense I think of it as being real only with in a construct. I wonder if the test was changed.... would the others have a high IQ.... or is it "we" value certain traits, skills, and knowledge. Again, its not that we have IQ test.. it is what we do with them that matters..... till later bob muffoletto muffoletto@uni.edu
