A couple of weeks ago some individuals expressed an interest in obtaining a shareware gradebook program. You may obtain my gradebook program at the ftp site: sumex-aim.stanford.edu. It is called: interactive-gradebook.hqx and is in the directory /info-mac/card. It is a HyperCard program. It allows the user to grade on a point basis or weighted basis. The user can define their own categories, (if grading on a weight basis), and set their own weights. It keeps track of all of a student's grades on a single card, (each student is given their own card). The instructor can make a blank printout of the gradecard so that students can keep track of their own grades throughout the course. If an instructor has a computer in the classroom, they can use the program to call on students *randomly*, to answer questions related to the lecture, homework, discussion, or whatever, and even give (or takeaway) gradepoints if so desired. If you have any questions, contact me. Ben Seaberry bseaber@eis.calstate.edu
