Bob, I still do not accept your arguments about social construction s and reality. You can't believe that the fact that something is socially constructed makes it not real. Gravity is a social construction. So is racism. So is poverty. So is AIDS. Why is IQ to be stigmatized and not all these others? One may question the usefulness of the concept. One may question whether raising national IQ scores has any practical implications. One may question the data. But I don't see anything wrong with testing people and assigning a number to the results--even if that number doesn't measure everything, and even if that number is a composite measure.
