As part of a project to improve the service we provide in our undergraduate educational computing course, we would like to automate some of the objective tests students take and free up the teaching assistants to provide more one on one help to students. Can anyone suggest a shareware or commercial package that will allow us to put test items in a database and then have students take tests on about 15 different modules at the computer? The idea would be to have a large database of items and have the computer randomly select about 10 items from the database for a module or assignment, administer them to the student, and then score the test. Any suggestions? Jerry Willis, Director Center for Information Technology in Education College of Education University of Houston Houston, Texas 77204 jwillis@jetson.uh.edu
