Archive.org has some old industrials designed to educate young people about what newspaper companies do. My favorite one to show to students is from 1940 and is called "Journalism." The students are shocked by the lack of diversity in the newsroom, and the narrator's advice to girls that they should stick to writing about homemaking, parties and decorating. I then show them The Black Press: Soldiers Without Swords and they read about women reporters and photographers at the front and in Eleanor Roosevelt's press conferences, in order to get a more accurate picture of what was actually happening in journalism at the time.
