I'm developing a syllabus around the theme of "bodies of war." This course will be a undergrad, history major senior seminar and would explore the body as a source of historical evidence and military history. Some themes to explore would be the dehumanization of the enemy, gender/masculinity, disability, war crimes/genocide, war protest and dissent/counterculture of "sixties" and more hopefully! i would greatly appreciate any suggestions on readings--either books or articles--appropriate for undergrads that i might include in my syllabus. i'm also curious if anyone knows of any scholarly works that might theorize the topic of "bodies and war." your suggestions are greatly appreciated, Martin Smith, PhD Candidate, Univ. of Illinois ----- For subscription help, go to: http://www.h-net.org/lists/help/ To change your subscription settings, go to http://h-net.msu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=h-war -----
