With reference to Stanley Sandler's query, this subject cropped up on another list a while ago. As I recall, the Canadians were not actually at Dunkirk, but were landed further West during or after the evacuation at Dunkirk, and then pulled out again back to the UK. It is often forgotten that the Dunkirk operation was only the first and most spectacular of a series of evacuations from French ports until around the 20th of June 1940.
