[Ben Frank says:] "I might also recommend checking the resources at the Marine Corps Historical Center' Reference Section, which has a thick file on the Marine Corps Navajo Code Talkers. In addition, when I retired, I left the section a goodly amount of material. Also, I was at Window Rock when the Navajo Code Talker Association was formed and I conducted a large number of oral history interviews with the WWII veterans. These have been transcribed and are in the Marine Corps Historical Center's Oral History Collection. I might also recommend the best book written about the code talkers, Doris Paull's "The Navajo Code Talkers." It has gone through several reprints." An excellent suggestion. Many Navajo who never served as code talkers have claimed that honor and sorting out the real ones from the fakes is not easy. A.A. Nofi anofi@aol.com
