Nofi ------------- 2) Stanley Sandler From: "Sandler, Stanley" <SandlerSL@mail.vmi.edu> Date: Wed, 3 May 2000 08:10:24 -0400 Somewhat to the question about damage control in aircraft carrriers, in 1968 I went aboard USS Forrestal, only about six months after her disastrous fire-explosions had burned through several decks. I could find not one reminder of that catastrophe --even the statue of James Forrestal on the hanger deck (the original of which which must have melted down during the blaze) was back on its pedestal. Most impressive. He has accumulated a great deal of data, and I would not be surprised if he had some of the damage control information at his finger tips.
