Dear H-TURK Subscribers, Greetings! We have some important news to share regarding one of H-TURK’s parent organizations. The membership of the Turkish Studies Association have recently voted to change the name of the organization to the ”Ottoman and Turkish Studies Association.” The new name better reflects the growth of our field in recent years to include those scholars working on Ottoman topics beyond the geographic reach of Turkey. Our journal will begin afresh as “The Journal of the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Association.” We have a energetic and skilled new editorial team who will be sending news, including a call for papers, soon. Please watch for it. Our annual awards cycle begins this spring, and we would like to inform you of several important deadlines below. For future reference, this information can be found on our website at: http://www.h-net.org/~thetsa/news/awards.html. Please disseminate this information as widely as possible to interested colleagues and students. Participants in the competition need not be members of the OTSA. Our dynamic Board Members have several new and exciting projects in the works at OTSA, and we will continue to update you as things progress. We thank those of you who have been long-time supporters of the organization and encourage all H-TURK subscribers to become members. The information for that is here: http://www.h-net.org/~thetsa/membership/renew.html. For the moment, please continue to make checks out to the Turkish Studies Association.
