In response to Sarah Wiley's criticism of SHEAR's "movers and shakers" for their supposed neglect and "resentment" of Alexander Hamilton, I would like to point out that the _Journal of the Early Republic_ published Andrew Shankman's article "'A New Thing on Earth': Alexander Hamilton, Pro-Manufacturing Republicans, and the Democratization of American Political Economy" in its Fall 2003 issue. This piece was recently awarded a prize for "outstanding journal publication in the field of early American economic history" by the the Library Company of Philadelphia's Program in Early American Economy and Society. I encourage Hamiltonians and Jeffersonians alike to read it; Adams-men and -women, too. Gary Kornblith Oberlin College -- Gary J. Kornblith Professor of History Oberlin College Oberlin OH 44074
