In my Early American Political Development course, I just taught THE SHOEMAKER AND THE TEA PARTY and its brilliant recapturing of George Robert Twelves Hewes and the nature of historical memory with regard to "the destruction of the tea." I hope that Alfred Young, whom I never had the privilege to meet, would have been happy with the students' enthusiasm for his book and for the questions he got them to consider.
