Jesse, Your timing is perfect. Your November 1 message came on the day of the Annual History Graduate Student Conference at Northern Illinois University, where Al taught for so many years. The students have renamed the conference "In Honor of Professor Alfred F. Young," and held it not only virtually on Pope's Day but on Al's Yahrzeit -- the anniversary of his death on November 6, 2012.
