Dr. Ellefeson has provided a great example. The elder Habersham was a true 18th century conservative and right-hand man, if you will, of Georgia's royal governor, Sir James Wright. It should be noted, however, that Habersham died six months before the Rebels ousted the provincial government. Interestingly, his son was charged with arresting Governor Wright. In addition to the *GHQ* article Professor Ellefson mentioned, I'd recommend Frank Lambert's biography (isbn: 978-0820343433) and *Collections of the Georgia Historical Society*, volume 6 (The Letters of Hon. James Habersham). This last book is available as a free Google Book.
