Dear Friends of H-Net: After a few fits and stumbles, H-SHEAR, our network for scholars of the early American republic, crossed the starting line with all of its subscribers and entered the new H-Net Commons this weekend. It can be viewed at: http://networks.h-net.org/h-shear It's an exciting time for us as we expand our capabilities and reach out to new audiences. About a dozen more networks are in the pipeline to move during the next few weeks; you can see them emerge by occasionally tapping in to: http://networks.h-net.org/networks Creating the Commons has been the biggest and costliest development undertaking in our 20-year history; as it launches, we are already working on its next release with fixes and improvements, expanded features, new layouts, and more fine-tuned user controls. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to assist us in this effort. We want to keep H-Net free and open for everyone. Click over to: https://www.h-net.org/donations/ to donate by mail, secure web, or phone. We are very grateful to the many readers who have contributed. Any and all donations are thankfully received. Sincerely, Peter -- %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Dr. Peter Knupfer Executive Director H-Net: Humanities & Social Sciences Online Department of History Old Horticulture 506 E.
