The Massachusetts Historical Society announces the Sixth meeting of the 2002-2003 season of the Boston Area Early American History Seminar series..... March 6, 2003 Joanne Pope Melish, University of Kentucky "The First Reconstruction: Reconfiguring 'Race' in Southern New England after the Wars of the Eighteenth Century" Comment: James O'Toole, Boston College As always, the seminar involves the participants reading a pre-circulated paper available from the society. The meeting will commence at 5:15 pm in the seminar room of the Society, 1154 Boylston St., Boston. After a comment by the author and criticism by the Mr. O'Toole, the program will be opened to a general discussion of the topic at hand. Afterwards, the society will serve a light buffet supper. Reservations are suggested, but not required to attend the seminar, but are required to attend the supper. For those who have not yet subscribed, please note new this year there are two options and prices for subscriptions. Persons who wish to continue to receive papers by mail, please remit $35 for the full season of papers. Those who wish to receive papers by means of a password which will gain entry to a secure page on our website where papers can be downloaded in PDF format, please remit $25. Please be sure to mark your check with the name of the seminar series you are subscribing. In the event of inclement weather, please call the Society to determine if the meeting has been postponed.
