To: H-NET/OIEAHC Electronic Association in Early American Studies <H-OIEAHC@H-NET.MSU.EDU> Delivered-to: H-OIEAHC@H-NET.MSU.EDU Original-recipient: rfc822;john.saillant@vmh.cc.wmich.edu A committee of the Pennsylvania Legislature was created in 1775 to determine the status of munitions and accoutrements in the respective counties. Apparently the committee was created in response to a Congressional Resolution of October of the same year encouraging the provinces to trade foodstuffs (except those needed for the army) with the West Indies in return for munitions and salt petre, an indication to me that munitions were in demand.
