Sent: 15 January 2014 02:18 Dear colleagues, I'm hoping to put together a panel for MESA 2014 on inter-Asian connections between the Middle East and East Asia. My paper is about the modern period, but this panel is suitable for those working on the medieval and pre-modern periods as well. My paper will be about connections between late Qajar Iran and late Meiji and Taisho Japan (ca. 1900-1926). If you would be interested in participating in this panel, please contact me off-list as soon as possible at mimihanaoka@gmail.com. My apologies for any cross-posting. All the best, Mimi Hanaoka Mimi Hanaoka, PhD Assistant Professor Department of Religious Studies University of Richmond 28 Westhampton Way University of Richmond, Virginia 23173 -- --
