? For a panel session at next spring's (2010) Second Conference on Literature and the Law at John Jay College, the City University of New York, I am soliciting papers on "Law and/as Comedy." The net cast here is pretty wide, from slapstick to Shakespeare. [NB: My own interest is in the proposition that comedy is the structural genre most likely to engage the law, but as I won't be giving a paper, I'll cede that territory to whomever finds it attractive.]? ? Deadline for proposals pending a set date for the conference, but let's say 15 September 2009 for now. Hard copy to Jon-Christian Suggs, English, John Jay College, CUNY NYC, NY 10019.
