Date: Thu, September 18, 2008 4:36 pm Subject: Query About the Hiring of Legal Historians in History Departments Greetings, all! I'm trying to collect some information on when history departments began hiring legal historians (as opposed to constitutional historians) on a regular basis. In some cases, as Mary Dudziak has noted, the advertisements for the positions that legal historians ultimately were hired for would have targeted broader fields, such as political or social history, so reading over past issues of perspectives doesn't seem to help much. Can anyone recommend some good sources? Many thanks! LK
