Following this thread with interest. I'm confused, though. Unite- Here's website says the Hyatt is being boycotted, which is apparently less than a strike (their explanatory page was unavailable). Does this make a difference? Is the same level of solidarity called for, when the union is expressing a political opinion by asking people to boycott a property, as would be expected if the employees were actually on strike at this hotel? Are people sympathetic to the union's goals of organizing hospitality workers to improve their working conditions, wages, etc., obligated to endorse the union's political agenda? I happen to agree with the union on prop 8 -- I'm just asking. --Dan
