Two new Editors are sought for: (1) Web Editor and (2) Book Reviews Editor (1) Wanted: New Web Editor for the Graduate Journal of Social Science Currently, the Graduate Journal of Social Science is undergoing major changes to our editorial board, as most major positions (including those of Chief Editors, Book Review Editor and Web Design Editor) are coming to a natural simultaneous end, due to most of our editorial board members having been in their respective roles for approximately two years. In addition to our previous advertised vacancies, we are therefore searching for a new web editor to work alongside and independently from the Editors in Chief and other members of the editorial board. Ideally, we would like the new web editor to begin to work with the GJSS, through training and shadowing the position in Spring 2013, in order to be in place for the summer issue published in June 2013. The Web Editor is responsible for: - Maintaining and updating the GJSS website (3 times a year, when new issues are published). - Maintaining the web account and liaising with service providers (when necessary). - Updating Directory of Open Access Journal entries. - There is no pre-requirement of knowledge of any particular CMS (Content Management Systems) but familiarity with these (particularly Joomla) will be helpful. - The web editor shares GJSS ethics and values related to Open Access and Open Software approaches. Please send your CV and a one-page motivation letter (as well as any related queries) toeditors@gjss.org. The deadline for this application is Monday 25th of February 2013. (2) Wanted: New Book Review Editor for the Graduate Journal of Social Science Founded in 2002 by a group of research students, the Graduate Journal of Social Science is a well-established peer-reviewed online journal with a strong international presence. The journal exists as a critical forum for discussion and exchange of ideas on interdisciplinary methodologies in the Social Sciences. The Graduate Journal of Social Science is searching for a new book review editor to work both alongside and independently from the current Editors in Chief and various guest editors in managing the book review section of GJSS editions. Ideally, we would like the new book review editor to begin work in March 2013. The Book Review Editor is responsible for: - Disseminating calls for book reviews. - Choosing submissions that correspond to the theme of each journal edition. - Personally editing two rounds of the chosen book reviews and liaising with authors regarding corrections during that process. - Ensuring the style and format of all book reviews is the same as that required by the journal. - Ensuring submission deadlines are met. - Liaising with the GJSS editors and copy editors. - Keeping to an independent work schedule. Please send your CV and a one-page motivation letter (as well as any related queries) toeditors@gjss.org. The deadline for applications is Monday 258th of February 2013.
