The LGBT Caucus of Public Health Professionals is soliciting abstracts for presentations in its scientific sessions at the 141st Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association in Boston, Massachusetts, November 2 6, 2013. Topics should focus on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender health research and/or the conference theme, ³Think Global Act Local: Best Practices Around the World. Topics may include, but are not limited to the following: Sexual minority female youth and/or womenıs health (including lesbians, bisexual women, and/or WSW/WSWM) Mental health and substance use among sexual minority female youth and/or women Victimization of sexual minority female youth and/or women Sexual and reproductive health among sexual minority female youth and/or women Health disparities among sexual minority female youth and/or women Sexual minority female youth and/or womenıs health policy and advocacy Social contexts and social determinants of sexual minority female youth and/or womenıs health Global/international sexual minority female youth and/or womenıs health Emerging and other relevant topics Abstracts should be no more than 250 words. Submitting abstracts does not require APHA membership. However, if accepted, presenters must be individual members of APHA and have registered for the meeting to present. Abstracts cannot be presented or published in any journal prior to the APHA Annual Meeting. Scientific session formats include: 1) Oral presentation (individual) 2) Panel session (No more than 5 speakers. Following the APHA website guidelines, the coordinator must submit an abstract for the session as a whole with each speaker submitting an individual abstract for his/her presentation.) 3) Poster presentation (individual) Please indicate format preference (if any) when the abstract is submitted. All abstracts submitted to the Caucus undergo blinded, peer review. Reviews will not be forwarded to abstract authors. Abstracts must be submitted online through the APHA website ( http://apha.confex.com/apha/141am/lgbt.htm) no later than February 8, 2013.
