The term 'addiction' is problematic even in alcohol and drug related problems - and is medical terminology that simply adds to constructed labels - which may be useful or not for the 'client' but not necessarily acceptable other than to categorise medically. I agree with David over this and also wasn;t too keen on the line 'recruiting some female sex addicts'. There are some useful alternatives to understanding gender and challenging normative accounts of sex that move beyond the quantifiable and 'disease' / medical models. I imagine starting with ideas about what constitutes 'female (cis and trans gender) and then 'sex' and then 'addiction' - all contestable!!
