Dear all

I'm looking into the idea of hysteria and medical masturbation, particularly in
19th/early 20th Century in UK, Europe and the US. I've found lots of claims
about the existence of this practice, but very little by way of direct
refutation. Can anyone point me towards literature that can help me out on
this?
