Sent: 12 October 2012 02:27 Dear colleagues, I am creating a first-year, one-semester survey course on the history of Christianity and sexuality and wondered whether you had suggestions for must-have readings. The course will follow a chronological scheme. We will explore the ways in which Christian teachings on a few key issues - celibacy, adultery, homosexuality, and polygamy, for example -- have varied over time and will chart the diverse ways in which Christian individuals and communities have negotiated, contested, or reconfigured these teachings in their lives and writings. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have for readings for the course (through the list or via private email) and will collate the suggestions should the response warrant it and list members be interested in it. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you might have. Naomi Lloyd
